Summary

Seagen is seeking an Associate Director (AD), Corporate Security – Executive Protection. In this newly created role, the AD will have the responsibility to aid in the development of a robust worldwide executive protection and investigations program to secure personnel, facilities, and intellectual property. The main focus of this role will be to develop and promote strategic, tactical, and proactive security strategies in support of the executive protection program, and secondarily running investigations on behalf of Corporate Security at Seagen.

The AD will administer these security strategies through the application of security best practices, industry standards, and what’s fit for purpose for Seagen. This role will collaborate with external groups (e.g., federal, state, local law enforcement and emergency services) as well as partner with cross-functional groups/internal stakeholders to ensure corporate security requirements are met.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the executive protection program to include corporate security relationship of third-party executive protection security services, as well as internal executive protection security assessments and audits
  • Develop and manage post orders for executive protection assignments
  • Develop necessary executive protection policies and procedures to ensure the program is in line with recognized industry standards
  • Liaise with the Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) in coordination with third-party executive protection security services to ensure quick response to security threats
  • Work with vendors and contractors to assist with physical security design and buildouts of current and new corporate office buildings, to ensure minimum executive protection physical security design standards are followed
  • Conduct investigations into worldwide security incidents including camera review and completion of appropriate investigations documentation, typically in coordination with GSOC, HR and Legal
  • Monitor, audit, and oversee building access controls of executive office spaces to ensure all employees, onsite vendors, and contractors have the right access and understand policy
  • Work with outside consultants and vendors as appropriate for independent executive protection and investigations security audits and assessments when necessary/applicable
  • Help establish and support a global travel security program and work with relevant internal stakeholders to ensure Seagen personnel are socialized and trained appropriately
  • Work in conjunction with Corporate Security Manager (Corporate Spaces), Corporate Security Manager (Manufacturing Spaces), and Corporate Security Analyst to establish overall corporate security best practices
  • Work with Director of Corporate Security to implement an enterprise-wide corporate security program

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 7+ years of executive protection experience within a corporate environment
  • The ability to be flexible and work through the absence of established processes
  • Capable of managing complex projects with limited oversight

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience conducting investigations within a corporate or government agency environment
  • Insider threat program experience and/or CERT Carnegie Mellon Certificate Familiarity with confidential security programs to include innovative technology and processes
  • Ability to partner with internal stakeholder groups as well as a variety of vendors/contractors to deliver and implement change
  • Strong judgement and decision-making skills
  • The ability to be on call 24/7 to respond to company-related security incidents and to travel domestically and internationally as needed
  • The ability to successfully deal with ambiguity and operate in the grey
  • The ability to successfully earn/build trust with relevant stakeholders, colleagues, and peers

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university (required) or equivalent years of industry experience
  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university (preferred)
