Summary

This position is critical to supporting expansion of capacity and capabilities required to execute manufacturing of Seagen's growing clinical and commercial supply plans. Key responsibilities include evaluation of design documents, submittals, and architectural plans. User requirements specification gathering, documentation and approval. Assessment of equipment and utilities to meet user requirements specifications and project deliverables. Creation of Requests for Information and Proposal documents (RFI/RFP). Review of returned proposals. Represent organization as technical point of contact during contracting and throughout projects. The successful candidate will have knowledge of biotech production systems with background in engineering, construction project management, equipment sourcing, or other relevant role.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Partner with end user functions (Manufacturing, QC, MSAT) to develop user requirements specifications for equipment and utilities systems
  • Coordinate with Architecture and Engineering functions to incorporate and validate inclusion of user requirements in design documents, including floorplans, MEP design, piping and instrumentation diagrams, equipment list, etc.
  • Review detailed design documents to verify consistency of user requirement across disciplines, e.g., electrical and plumbing plans incorporate points of use required for specified equipment
  • Create requests for information (RFI) and requests for proposal (RFP) documents for required equipment systems and identify potential suppliers to solicit for proposals. Engage with respondents throughout RFP process to ensure participation, quality proposals, fair evaluation and contracting/partnership position
  • Evaluate proposals with cross-functional team and make recommendation for business awards
  • Partner with Procurement and Legal contracts team to create Letter of Intent (LOI), Statement of Work (SOW) and Master Supply/Service Agreements (MSA)
  • Create program to manage capture and organization of user requirements for equipment, room finishes, utilities, etc.
  • Communicate with Manufacturing, Process Engineering, Facilities and other project team members to ensure timely mitigation and/or escalation of issues with internal and external deliverables
  • Partner with EH&S to ensure activities are aligned with EH&S Safety programs where necessary
  • Participate in the Product Supply continuous improvement program. Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to project management
  • Perform other support activities as needed to support the overall efficiency of the Product Supply organization

Required Qualifications:

  • 5 years of project engineering for GMP biopharmaceutical facility design and construction projects
  • Experience managing processes and projects with cross-functional teams
  • Knowledge of applicable industry landscape and emerging trends

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
  • Able to work equally well as part of a team or independently
